This privacy statement explains how AssetTrail processes information when you use the mobile application and related fleet-management services.
AssetTrail stores limited app-installation information when push notifications are registered. This includes a random installation identifier, platform, device name/model, app version, last-registration time, and push token. AssetTrail does not collect the phone serial number, hardware IMEI, advertising identifier, phone number, or phone location for this registration.
If you create an account in the mobile app, the service receives your user name, display name, email address and password for authentication. The password is stored only as a secure hash. Your email address is used to send the required confirmation link. This account information is separate from information about your phone.
If you enable push notifications, the app may also send a push-notification token. This token is used only to deliver notifications that you have chosen to receive.
Push notifications are optional. You may decline notification permission. If you decline, no push-notification token is required for push delivery and you can continue using the other available app features.
GPS/location information produced by your fleet tracker is processed only to locate that tracker and present tracker-related information in AssetTrail, including its current map position, route history and geofence status. Tracker location information is not used for advertising or unrelated profiling.
The app may optionally ask for permission to use your phone's current location to center supported map screens. This location is used on the device for the map experience and is not collected or stored by the AssetTrail service. You may decline or revoke this permission at any time.
Push notifications are optional. If you opt in, AssetTrail stores the push-notification token needed to address notifications to the app. The token is used only for push delivery. Email or SMS notifications, where configured by your organization, use the contact information associated with those services and are separate from mobile-device information.
The service may process account information, tracker identifiers and configuration, tracker GPS data, route history, geofence events, notification preferences and operational/security logs required to provide and protect the fleet-management service. This does not include collecting information about the user's phone.
You can decline or revoke phone-location and push-notification permissions through your device settings. Registered installations can also be reviewed, renamed, or removed in Settings → My devices. Account- and fleet-related requests should be directed to the organization that provides your AssetTrail account.
Tracker, account and service information is retained according to system configuration and applicable organizational requirements. Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used to protect stored and transmitted information.
